How does a transfer work?
Once a transfer agreement is finalized via email, the buyer sends payment to the independent escrow company, and the seller transfers the domain name ownership to the escrow company. When the funds have cleared and are available, the escrow company takes its fee (typically 5%) and transfers the domain to the Buyer's registrar, and the funds to the Seller.
Will I own the domain name?
Although you will own it 100%, understand that ALL internet domain names are in effect "leased" from an official ICANN-supported registrar, at the yearly renewal price. You can pay years in advance (recommended). Most registrars lock the renewal price to the registration price. As long as you're paid up, the registrar cannot release it or resell it, so you "own" it.
How long will the transfer take?
I'm a motivated seller, and will make every effort to expedite the process. Verifying payment, transferring domains between registrars, and propagating the domain online can take between 48 hours and 7 days.
What technical skills are required for the transfer?
It's pretty simple. Once the domain transfers to your chosen registrar, you simply login to your account there and change the DNS servers to those of your web hosting company.
What other expenses?
All taxes, transfer and escrow fees are included in the sale price. Additional expenses after purchasing this domain include registering the name at a domain registrar (typically $15-$20/yr.), possibly hiring a web designer to create the site, and hosting the site on a webhosting server.

I am the only "owner" of this domain, and the only one authorized to transfer it. I've renewed it year after year for decades, but never used it for business as anticipated, so decided to sell it.
